Selling, or just want advice on improving the energy performance of your home?

By the end of 2007 every home put on the market, whether through an estate agent or by your own marketing, must have a Home Information Pack (HIP). One of the most important elements of the HIP is an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) which will help you reduce your energy needs and environmental impact of your home.

Your EPC will detail your current energy performance and environmental impact rating based on the construction, the heating and hot water systems used and level of insulation with in your home.

The EPC will also contain a list of recommendations split into three cost categories which include lower, higher and further cost measures to improve the energy consumption of your home.

This information can then be used to improve your properties impact on the environment.

A copy of your certificate is also lodged on the National Register.

Cost Effective and helps the Environment

It is estimated that on average every household in the UK could save approximately £300 per year by improving the energy efficiency of their home and by making small changes to the way energy is used.

Some recommendations are extremely cost effective with pay back periods of less than 2 years, not only making perfect financial sense but also reducing your homes impact on the environment.

In addition Government and Local Authority grants may be available to help towards the cost of your energy improvements.

We will be happy to carry out an energy assessment on your home, issue an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) and make recommendations as to what you could do to improve your home's energy efficiency. Reducing your households carbon foot print.

Just need some Advice

If you have recently purchased a new home and have been provided with an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) as part of your Home Information Pack (HIP). The energy saving recommendations on the EPC should be clear however if you would like to discuss them with a qualified Domestic Energy Assessor, we can visit you at home to explain them in detail.

The Cost

The cost of a full energy assessment including visiting your property, issue and registration of the EPC can be as little as £90 + VAT to £150 + VAT depending on the size of your property.

The cost of a visit to discuss an existing EPC is £60 + VAT. You will receive completely independent and objective advice as to how to improve the energy efficiency of your home in the most economical and practical way. Since we are purely energy assessors we will not attempt to sell you any further work, products or services.
